Los residuos peligrosos son residuos que por sus características corrosivas,explosivas,toxicas ,inflamables,infecciosas o radioactivas,puedan causar riesgos o daños para la salud y el medio ambiente.
Los residuos peligrosos deben ser prevenidos en su maxima expresión y en caso de que no sea posible se deben garantizar todas la medidas necesarias para evitar que lleguen a afectar cualquier componente ambiental.En tanto que es asi; las organizaciones deben adoptar medidas desde su generación , pasando por su almacenamiento temporal , el transporte de los residuos peligrosos hacia su lugar de tratamiento y por último su tratamiento final.
| Descripción Larga | La Gestión Integral de Residuos Peligrosos se articula con los objetivos y metas de la política nacional, las prioridades de la ciudad y la situación actual, con el fin de establecer líneas de acción estratégica, así como también la definición de las responsabilidades y roles para la ejecución. Esta implica la planeación y cobertura de las actividades relacionadas con la gestión de los residuos peligrosos desde la generación hasta su disposición final. El Plan para la Gestión Integral de Residuos Peligrosos (RESPEL), se estructurará con base en dos componentes generales: componente gestión interna y componente gestión externa. La misión de las organizaciones como ya se mencionó, es adoptar medidas o tecnologías mas limpias que permitan sustituir los productos que puedan generar residuos peligrosos y por unos no peligrosos. Así mismo para aquellos procesos en los que es casi imposible sustituir los productos que generen residuos peligrosos, se deben asignar los recursos necesarios para garantizar un estudio efectivo del residuos con el fin de aplicar el tratamiento más apropiado para la prevención de la contaminación. |
